On 12th June PLURI participated in the the European Remembrance REM cluster meeting organized by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency. It was an all-day event for coordinators leading projects funded in 2023 and 2024. PLURI team was represented by project coordinator Alicja Fajfer. The event was a unique opportunity to network, as well as exchange experiences and good practices from the currently implemented projects, in terms of impact, communication or dissemination, as well as the Calls’ priorities. Apart from improving cooperation and synergies among beneficiaries, the event also aimed to gather feedback on project results in order to shape the future of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme.

The day started with welcome speeches from Alessandra Luchetti from EACEA, Maria Tomasetti from DG Justice and Katharina von Schnurbein who is the EC Coordinator on combatting antisemitism and fostering Jewish life.
The day continued with two panel debates. First, panelists discussed the landscape of remembrance in European countries. The discussion was guided by the following questions: promoting EU values, combating historical distortion and forms of intolerance, the role for European Remembrance projects in building informed European societies. The second panel was focused on REM project implementation, and featured insights on effectively mobilizing the audience as well as creating synergies.
The afternoon program gave participants the opportunity to discuss calls’ priorities in six smaller groups. Each group addressed issues relating to one priority:
- Democratic transition, (re-)building and strengthening society based on the rule of law, democracy and fundamental rights.
- Holocaust, war crimes, victims of and resistance to totalitarian regimes – challenges and solutions in view of disappearance of the last witnesses of XXth century events.
- Holocaust, war crimes, victims of and resistance to totalitarian regimes – engaging Europeans in combatting anti-semitism and anti-gypsyism.
- Holocaust, war crimes, victims of and resistance to totalitarian regimes -countering Holocaust inversion and distortion and state politisation.
- Migration and decolonisation and multicultural European societies.
- European integration and its defining achievements.
A rapporteur from each group then presented the main takeaways from the discussion at the plenary session. PLURI participated in discussion number 6. The day concluded with more informal networking over snacks and drinks.

PLURI is grateful to EACEA for the invitation to the meeting. It was truly an inspiring day with lots of energizing encounters. We look forward to working together with such an amazing group of coordinators.
